We are seeking an experienced Carbon Offsetting Specialist to join our team in Maputo (Mozambique). This role requires a highly motivated individual with expertise in carbon offset projects, environmental sustainability, and related regulatory frameworks. As a consultant, you’ll work closely with key stakeholders to drive impactful initiatives and support our mission toward environmental responsibility_**_._**
- Supervise and lead a team of carbon offset project coordinators, ensuring effective teamwork, clear communication, and a collaborative work environment.
- Develop and implement strategies for identifying, evaluating, and selecting carbon offset projects in alignment with organizational goals and international standards.
- Coordinate and monitor the implementation of carbon offset projects, including data collection, verification, and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with relevant international standards and protocols, such as the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS), Climate Action Reserve (CAR), and Gold Standard.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to establish and maintain partnerships for carbon offset initiatives.




- Conduct regular project performance evaluations and provide guidance to project coordinators to ensure project objectives are met.
- Stay updated on industry trends, policies, and regulations related to carbon offset activities to ensure compliance and best practices.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation to communicate project progress, achievements, and challenges to stakeholders.
- Support capacity building initiatives by providing training and mentorship to project coordinators and other team members.
- Contribute to the development of innovative strategies and initiatives to enhance the organization's carbon offset activities. **Location**: Maputo, Mozambique (on-site)
