Offer Description

The VITIS-VALOR project aims to make the most of wine-making waste from the local area around Pavia (Oltrepò Pavese), transforming it from a disposal cost into a high value‑added resource within a circular economy model. The resource will be incorporated into the project, focusing primarily on the development of eco‑sustainable extraction procedures with low environmental impact for waste materials from the wine production chain, and on the subsequent preliminary biological investigation aimed at assessing the antioxidant and chemopreventive potential of the extracts

The public call with detailed attendance and selection rules (Art 4 and 6) can be found at: selections are open to candidates, Italian or foreigner, in possession, on the date of the deadline for submitting applications for the admission to the selection, of a master's degree or single‑cycle,



degree obtained no more than six years previously are eligible to participate in the selection process. These degrees must be relevant to the subject of the research activity.
Further specific assessable qualifications (see Art. 1 par. 1 Call for applications):

- Master’s degree in Medical and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology
- Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Botany (Ph.D. in Earth and Environmental Sciences)
- Enrolment in the (Italian) level II Master’s Program in Drug Design and Development
- Proven research experience in drug discovery from natural sources, gained at Italian and/or foreign research institutions and/or universities
- Proven experience in eco‑sustainable extraction procedures of plant matrices and in conducting cell‑free assays to evaluate the biological activity of extracts, fractions, and secondary metabolites
- Proven experience in scientific dissemination activities (oral presentation at conferences, workshops, scientific events, and public outreach initiatives).
