Institute for Alpine Environment The Institute for Alpine Environment performs problem-oriented research of mountain environments in the fields of landscape ecology, global change, biodiversity, ecosystem services and sustainable development. For the “Schneewinkel” project, which focuses on biodiversity issues within intensive apple orchards, we invite applications for the position of intern in the field of entomology. Besides a profound knowledge of the invertebrate fauna, the ideal candidate has gained experience in sorting of invertebrate samples.
Working location is Bozen/Bolzano.
Tasks:
Presorting of invertebrate samples from sampling season 2026 (samples from sweep-netting, beat-netting and pan-traps)
Identification of single groups to species level is an advantage but not a mandatory requirement
Requirements:
Bachelor/master’s degree in Biology or Environmental Sciences (or similar), not more than 12 months after completion if not inscribed at a university
Willingness and availability to work in the laboratory
Good faunistic knowledge of invertebrate groups
Good skills in at least one of the following languages: English, German, or Italian
Good interpersonal and collaborative skills to integrate in a working group
Efficient organization skills
