Manager Design Management - Select & Midscale, Europe and North Africa

In this role you help shape the design direction for SeMi ENA hotel projects, ensuring brand compliance, quality, and operational acceptability across managed, franchised, and company-owned properties. You will work field-based in Italy, collaborating with cross-functional teams to review plans, manage design consultants, and support feasibility and rollout of prototype brands. This position offers global exposure and a route to influence how Marriott’s design standards are applied across Europe, with meaningful travel and stakeholder engagement.
- Manage design consultants, their proposals, contracts and invoicing to project objectives
- Provide project design quality assurance services including approvals, plan reviews, and construction observation
- Contribute to documenting, maintaining, and improving design delivery processes
- Ensure selection and development of brand-consistent building products
- Maintain knowledge of brand design standards and evolving design direction




- Provide design reviews and solutions for feasibility projects with Development, Financial Feasibility and LPO
- Coordinate Criteria/Facilities programs for projects
- Track and report feasibility project pipeline
- Assist in selling the brand/design to external customers and negotiating with owners/franchisees
- Provide guidance on adapting brand standards for specific projects to external and internal stakeholders
- Manage project communication with owners, franchisees, and project disciplines
- Participate in site visits/market surveys to understand site and market demands
- Contribute to project budget development and management
- Support rollout processes for prototype-based brands
- Collaborate with Global Design Strategies and LPO on continent input for brand initiatives
