Company Description
MOLO17 builds Gluesync: real-time CDC and hybrid data integration across RDBMS, NoSQL, data lakes, and event streaming. We are a product company, not a consultancy. Offices in Cupertino, CA and an R&D; center in Pordenone, Italy. The product team writes Gluesync in Kotlin. Java is a fine starting point.
Job Description
We are hiring a junior product engineer for the CET night shift.
You can live anywhere. Your working hours have to cover 22:00-06:00 Central European Time. If nights are not for you, this role is not.
What you will do:
Ship well-scoped Gluesync work with the product team (more pairing and review than the mid seat)
Own small pieces end to end: code, tests, review
Work with SQL and NoSQL sources (Oracle, SQL Server, IBM i / DB2, MongoDB, Kafka, and similar). IBM i, CDC, and the gnarlier bits you learn here
Write tests. We do not ship silent regressions
Take part in customer technical support on the CET night shift: troubleshoot production issues, help customers through Gluesync problems,
and feed what you learn back into the product. This is part of the job, not a rare exception.
Qualifications
Must have:
You have actually written Java in a job, internship, or a real shipped project. Tutorial-only Java will not pass
You know what Kotlin is and have written some (course, side project, or a bit at work). We do not need a year of production Kotlin. If you have never heard of it, this is not the role
Some REST, some SQL, Git you can use with other people
You can reliably work CET nights (22:00-06:00) from wherever you are
Nice to have: Ktor, Koin, Gradle, Docker, any NoSQL, Kafka.
Additional Information
What you get: remote from any country, MacBook Pro, performance premio, partner training (AWS, MongoDB, and similar). Compensation from 30k€.
Missing Ktor is fine. Never having shipped Java, or not knowing Kotlin exists, is not.
