Position Summary
OT Security and System Architecture Manager
OT Strategy, Resilience and Architecture role is accountable for defining, governing, and continuously improving the OT cybersecurity strategy, resilience framework, and target architecture for the site. The role ensures that OT systems are secure, resilient, compliant, and architecturally sound by design, GMP/GxP compliance, data integrity, and long-term digital transformation objectives. Acting as the architectural and security authority for OT, the role bridges Automation, OT Operations, IT, Quality, and Global Cybersecurity, translating standards and threat landscapes into practical, risk-based, and sustainable OT architectures. This is an individual contributor role (no direct reports).
Responsibilities
- OT Security Strategy: Define and maintain the Site OT Security and Strategy , aligned with Global OT Cybersecurity policies and Site Master Plan. Embed security-by-design and resilience-by-design principles into OT systems, networks, and execution platforms. Identify and manage cyber, operational, and architectural risks impacting OT systems and manufacturing continuity. Lead site-level OT risk assessments , threat modelling, and mitigation plans.
- OT Architecture Governance: Define and govern the Target OT Architecture (zones, conduits, network segmentation, remote access, edge and execution layers). Ensure consistency and compliance of OT solutions (PLC, SCADA, DCS, MES, LES, historians, data platforms) with approved OT architectures. Review and approve OT architecture designs for new projects, major changes,
technology refresh and obsolescence programs. Maintain architectural documentation (OT LDD, HLD, reference architectures).
- Lifecycle, Obsolescence & Technology Evolution: Drive secure OT lifecycle management, from design to decommissioning. Support OT obsolescence management plans ensuring security, resilience, and compliance are preserved. Evaluate emerging OT security and architecture technologies, supporting informed investment decisions.
- Governance, Compliance & Stakeholder Engagement: Ensure OT architectures meet GMP/GxP, Data Integrity (ALCOA+), CSV and cybersecurity requirements. SPOC for Business continuity delivering look ahead systems/services down time plan. Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for OT security and architecture during audits and inspections. Partner with Automation, Digital, Quality, IT, MSAT, and Global functions to align priorities and execution. Promote OT security awareness and architectural discipline across the site.
Qualifications & Skills
- Master's degree in Engineering (Automation, IT, Electronics, Industrial, or equivalent).
- At least 10 years of experience in similar roles in Pharma companies.
- Proven leadership experience in Automation, Digital, or OT roles within complex and regulated industrial environments.
- Fluent Italian and English (written and spoken).

- OT architectures and industrial security concepts (zones & conduits, defense-in-depth).
- Industrial automation systems (PLC, SCADA, DCS, MES/LES).
- OT cybersecurity principles, threat landscape, and mitigation strategies.
- GMP/GxP regulated environments, CSV, and Data Integrity.
- Network segmentation, secure remote access, and industrial protocols.
- Risk management and resilience frameworks.
- Degree in Automation, Electrical, Electronic, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
- Proven experience in OT security, system and cloud architectures, or industrial cybersecurity within regulated manufacturing environments.
- Experience working in matrix organisations with global and local stakeholders.

Italian Salary Range / Fascia retributiva in Italia
EUR 47,325 to EUR 78,875. The annual gross base salary range for new hires in this position is listed above for each applicable location. These ranges take into account a number of factors including the candidate's skills, experience, education level and the market rate for the role.
This role may offer an annual bonus and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program which is dependent on the level of the role. More detailed information on the total benefits package will be supplied during the recruitment process. GSK/ViiV applies the National Collective Bargaining Agreement (NCBA) for employees in the chemical and chemical-pharmaceutical industry and, where applicable as a result of the role assigned and the related job classification, the National Collective Bargaining Agreement for Industrial Executives of companies producing goods and services.
