Specific duties of the researcher (job description):
Teaching activities: The candidate’s teaching duties will focus on the subjects covered by the ICAR/03 academic-scientific sector within the degree programmes
at the Polytechnic University of Bari. These teaching-training duties must be conformed to the specific needs of the Polytechnic and the Department. In particular, the teaching and training duties must focus on the treatment of drinking water and wastewater, with a particular emphasis on the treatments required to enable the reuse of effluent from wastewater treatment plants. Furthermore,
the candidate will be responsible for teaching and guidance activities for upper secondary
schools in the Apulia Region. Finally, the candidate will also be responsible for participating in training activities for interns, M.Sc. candidates, and PhD students at the P.R.I.S.M.A. laboratory.
Scientific activities: The candidate will be required to carry out research in areas relevant to the CEAR-02/A. The academic role will involve the fulfillment of
high-level research, the promotion of scientific results, and the organization of national and international research groups. In particular, continuity must be ensured in research topics of the P.R.I.S.M.A. laboratory related to: i) treatments for the removal of emerging contaminants from environmental matrices, such as water
and soil; ii) fermentation processes for the treatment of organic waste; iii) the monitoring and diffusion of pollutants in environmental matrices; iv) the remediation of contaminated sites; v) processes for the recovery of materials and/or energy from industrial waste or effluents. Moreover, the scientific activity must address practical and technical needs within the fields of expertise of the SSD CEAR-02/A also through collaboration with qualified, leading institutions in the Puglia Region, as well as other national and international institutions.
Salary and Benefits: According to the current regulations.
Method of ascertaining the degree of knowledge of English: The assessment of the language proficiencies will be based upon the scientific papers published by the candidate. The committee may assess the language competencies also by means of an interview.
