/p pReporting to the bQuality Manager /b and working closely with the CEO, Production, Sales and Procurement, the successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with a pragmatic, hands-on approach to product development and industrialization.
/p pThe role offers significant autonomy and direct involvement throughout the entire development process, from initial concept and formulation through industrial trials, scale-up and product launch.
/p h3The Role /h3 pThe RD Manager will be responsible for developing new products and improving existing formulations, translating market trends, customer requirements and business opportunities into technically sound and industrially scalable solutions.
/p pThe position requires the ability to balance bproduct innovation, quality, industrial feasibility, cost and commercial requirements /b, while working effectively across different business functions.
/p pThis is both a managerial and operational role: the successful candidate will actively contribute to development activities and industrial trials while providing direction and coordination to the RD function.
/p h3Key Responsibilities /h3 pProduct Development /p ul liLead the development of new food products from concept through to industrial implementation and market launch.
/li liManage the complete product development cycle, including formulation, laboratory trials, pilot testing, industrial scale-up and validation.
/li liReview and optimize existing recipes and formulations to improve product quality, consistency, performance and cost effectiveness.
/li liEnsure that new formulations can be successfully transferred from development to full-scale manufacturing.
/li liEvaluate new ingredients, raw materials and technologies, assessing their technical and commercial potential.
/li liTranslate customer requirements and market opportunities into viable product development projects.
/li /ul h3Industrialization Continuous Improvement /h3 ul liPlan and coordinate industrial trials and production validations in close collaboration with Manufacturing and Quality.
/li liSupport production teams during scale-up,



process validation and the introduction of new products.
/li liIdentify opportunities to improve product quality, stability, shelf life and manufacturing efficiency.
/li liContribute to the optimization of formulation and production costs while maintaining the required quality standards.
/li liSupport troubleshooting activities related to products and manufacturing processes, identifying technically effective and sustainable solutions.
/li /ul h3Quality Compliance /h3 ul liWork closely with the Quality function to ensure that new products and formulations comply with applicable food safety, regulatory and quality requirements.
/li liEnsure that product development activities are consistent with company quality standards and relevant food industry certifications.
/li liContribute to the preparation and maintenance of technical documentation related to new and existing products.
/li /ul h3Innovation External Partnerships /h3 ul liMonitor market trends, emerging technologies, ingredients and innovation opportunities relevant to the food industry.
/li liDevelop and maintain relationships with ingredient suppliers, technical partners, laboratories and research institutions.
/li liWork closely with Sales and Procurement to evaluate customer requirements, new ingredients and potential product opportunities.
/li liContribute to the company's innovation pipeline by identifying development opportunities with clear technical and commercial potential.
/li /ul h3Candidate Profile /h3 ul liDegree in bFood Science and Technology, Food Chemistry /b or a related scientific discipline.
Candidates with a strong technical background and equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
/li liAt least b5 years of experience in RD and product development within the food manufacturing industry /b.
/li liSolid experience in the development and industrialization of formulated food products.
/li liStrong understanding of industrial food manufacturing processes and the transition from laboratory formulation to full-scale production.




/li liExperience in managing industrial trials, scale-up and product optimization.
/li liKnowledge of raw materials, ingredients, formulation principles and their impact on product and process performance.
/li liExperience with shelf-life, product stability and freezing technologies will be considered an advantage.
/li liPrevious exposure to international markets, retail customers or private-label product development will be considered an advantage.
/li liKnowledge of food safety and quality standards such as bIFS, BRCGS or equivalent /b will be considered an advantage.
/li libFluent Italian and English are mandatory.
