Job Duties:
- Provide a positive customer experience by greeting and assisting customers and responding to customer inquiries and complaints with fair, friendly, and courteous service.
- Operate cash register to process payments made by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits.
- Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers. Issue credit memorandums to customers for returned merchandise.
- Keep all required paperwork (invoice and refund copies)
secure and tidy until your end of shift register balancing.
- Proactively seek product knowledge to provide customers with information and identify upselling opportunities.
- Maintain a log of pricing discrepancies for managers.
- Help answer phones and directs customers to merchandise in the store.
- Verify customers’ information in computer regarding taxes. Specifically if customer is in computer system to receive special tax rates.
- Communicate with fellow ASC employees for information or assistance using walkie-talkies
- As register traffic allows; Offer customers carry-out service at the completion of transactions, return shopping carts, process returned or abandoned merchandize, throw out trash etc.
- Maintain register supplies as needed (bags, paper, etc).
- Draft load tickets for large product purchases made within the store that are to be picked up in the yard.
- Any and all other duties assigned by management.
