Within the Project Management and Management Methods and Processes function of the Merchant Ship Directorate, Warranty Coordination has among its tasks that of overseeing the warranty management process, ensuring uniformity of conduct, timely resolution of interventions, and upstream feedback to activate corrective actions also on newly built ships.

In this context, the role of the Guarantee Specialist is responsible for:

- supporting and coordinating the activities of all company functions involved in the warranty management process;

- directly managing activities related to specific problems, e.g., cross-cutting warranty issues, applicable to multiple ships and/or Customers;

- ensuring the continuous improvement of the warranty process.

The resource, inserted in the Warranty Coordination department within Project Quality, Commissioning and Warranty of the Merchant Ship Division, will be involved in the following activities:





- participate in the analysis and identification of corrective actions necessary to resolve problems, involving, as needed, the Design, Purchasing, Quality, PM Team, Legal Department, and interested suppliers;

- directly manage specific problems, starting from problem analysis, up to the scheduling and supervision of interventions on board the ship, through the development of an action plan agreed with the Customer;

- ensure the implementation of preventive actions in the design, material procurement, production phases, to avoid the repetition of repetitive or repeatable warranty problems on newly built ships;

- monitor the performance of processes and costs related to warranty activities; produce dedicated internal reports;

- ensure the correct registration and archiving of information within the warranty management IT system.

A degree in naval engineering or mechanical engineering or a Technical Institute diploma (preferably Nautical Engine Operator, Shipbuilder) is required.

Experience of 3-5 years gained in a similar role, preferably in companies operating on a project basis and in the naval sector, is appreciated.

The acquired skill set will include:

- Ability to plan and organize activities;





- Relational skills to interact with internal and external clients and suppliers;

- Technical knowledge, self-learning ability;

- Knowledge of merchant ship on-board systems is a preferential title;

- A good level of written and spoken English and a basic level of knowledge of IT tools (Microsoft Office) are required;

- Strong self-management skills, proactivity and determination in identifying and solving problems, attention to costs, ability to work under pressure, flexibility and adaptability are required.
