JOB TITLE: WFP Volunteer TYPE OF CONTRACT: Voluntary Assignment

UNIT/DIVISION: SCDIL/Logistics and Telecommunication Cluster/WREC

DUTY STATION (City, Country): Rome

WORKING ARRANGEMENT (in person/remote): Remote

SUPERVISOR: Katherine Ely

DURATION: 6 Months

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT The Waste management and measuring, Reverse logistics, Environmentally sustainable procurement and transport, and Circular economy (WREC) Coalition brings together humanitarian and development actors, private sector partners, academia, and other stakeholders to advance sustainable environmental practices across humanitarian supply chains and operations. The Coalition promotes knowledge sharing, innovation, and practical solutions in the areas of Circular Economy, Green Procurement, Decarbonization, Waste Management, and Reverse Logistics.

To strengthen its information management, knowledge-sharing, and communication activities, the WREC Coalition is seeking an Information Management Assistant (Volunteer) to support data collection and analysis, report preparation, website content management, and documentation of Coalition activities.

DUTY AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting and Knowledge Product Development

- Draft, edit, and coordinate reports, Notes for the Records (NFRs),



concept notes, guidance materials, case studies, and other knowledge products.
- Consolidate and synthesize stakeholder inputs into clear, accurate, and high-quality outputs.
- Support data collection and analysis activities, including surveys and questionnaires.

Website and Digital Content Management
- Maintain and update content, publications, resources, and event information on the WREC Coalition website and digital platforms.
- Ensure online content is accurate, accessible, user-friendly, and up to date.

Technical Support to WREC Thematic Areas
- Participate in and support meetings, webinars, workshops, and working group discussions.
- Prepare meeting summaries and related documentation.
- Provide information management and reporting support across WREC thematic areas, including Circular Economy, Green Procurement, Decarbonization, Waste Management, and Reverse Logistics.

EXPECTED OUTCOMES

- Timely development and dissemination of high-quality reports, NFRs, guidance documents, case studies, and other knowledge products supporting WREC Coalition objectives.
- Accurate and up-to-date content maintained on the WREC Coalition website, including resources, events, and publications.
- Effective collection, compilation, analysis, and reporting of data through surveys and other information-gathering activities.
- Strengthened information management and reporting support to WREC thematic workstreams, contributing to evidence-based decision-making and knowledge sharing.
- Increased visibility, consistency, and quality of WREC Coalition knowledge management and communication outputs.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Education: University degree (completed or in progress) in Environmental Sustainability, Environmental Sciences, Information Management, Communications, International Relations, Business Administration, Data Management, or a related field.

- Relevant academic coursework or training in sustainability, knowledge management, information systems, or data analysis is desirable.

Experience

- Previous experience through internships, volunteer work, academic projects, student organizations, or professional roles in information management, reporting, communications, knowledge management, environmental sustainability, or related fields is desirable.
- Exposure to environmental sustainability, circular economy, sustainable supply chains, waste management, green procurement, climate action, or humanitarian operations is desirable.

Knowledge & Skills

- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to organize, analyze, and synthesize information into clear and concise outputs.
- Good attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Familiarity with website content management systems, online collaboration tools, and survey platforms is an asset.




- Basic data analysis, reporting, and information management skills.
- Demonstrated interest in environmental sustainability, climate action, or sustainable development.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders in an international environment.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and meet deadlines.

Languages: Be fluent in English.
