Ephos is building vertically integrated, advanced packaging solutions on glass panels. We transform raw glass into electronic and optically active substrates for die-to-die connectivity, manufactured entirely within our own facilities. Our systems are built for companies developing AI accelerators, including hyperscalers and top-tier chip designers.

The role The Equipment Hardware Developer role will contribute directly to the development of the hardware used to produce our optically active substrates. The role centres on improving and hardening our existing equipment across process, automated handling and data management. You will work with R&D;, Process Engineering and Manufacturing to build robust equipment for our advanced products.
Your responsibilities
- Develop and enhance safe operating protocols for equipment.
- Develop and implement electrical and mechanical control strategies for production equipment.
- Integrate features with tool software and control strategies.
- Enable third-party automation to interact seamlessly with the equipment and the factory MES software.
- Enable data management for advanced tool diagnostics.
- Establish and manage the equipment budget and the cost model for upgrades.
- Work in close collaboration with Process and Manufacturing.
- Establish the equipment engineering and maintenance processes required to run the tools in production, and document them to quality standards.
The candidate we are looking for
- BSc or MSc in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics or Controls Engineering.
- 5+ years in the design and building of equipment, preferably at a semiconductor equipment OEM.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, energetic and self starter.
- Strong continuous improvement mindset, consistently identifying and eliminating waste and errors in processes, procedures and work organisation.
- Can commit to tempo pieno lab presence; due to the nature of the role we will not consider remote applicants.
