Sotokler Studio

Roma

Sotokler Studio is a Rome-based sourcing, procurement, and manufacturing studio working with interior designers, architects, hospitality groups, and other design professionals internationally.

We source vintage and antique furniture, lighting, objects, and artworks across Italy and Europe, and develop custom-made pieces with our in-house product designers and network of artisans, ateliers, Murano glassmakers, foundries, stone workshops, upholsterers, woodworkers, and manufacturers.

We are a young, international team growing quickly, with projects across Europe, the United States, and the Middle East. Our work sits between design, sourcing, manufacturing, and client relationships, with a strong focus on one-off pieces and highly specific requests.

The Role

We are looking for a Design & Client Liaison to join our team in Rome.

This is a client-facing sales and business development role for someone with a strong understanding of interiors, furniture, and design.

The role combines two sides of the business:

Business development: finding and developing relationships with interior designers, architects, hospitality groups, and other potential clients.

Client liaison and account management: becoming a key point of contact for our clients and acting as the link between their design teams and our internal sourcing and product design teams.

You will need to understand what a designer is looking for, whether that is a specific vintage piece, a custom dining table, a Murano glass fixture, a particular finish, or an entire furniture selection, and communicate that direction clearly to the relevant people within Sotokler.

You will then present our proposals, gather feedback, follow up on opportunities, and build the relationship over time.

This is not a traditional interior designer role and not a project management role. It is primarily about clients, sales, relationships, design understanding, and communication.

What You Will Do

Business Development & Sales

- Research and identify interior designers, architecture studios, hospitality groups, galleries, and other potential clients internationally
- Build and manage an outbound business development pipeline
- Reach out to prospective clients through email, LinkedIn, calls, introductions, events, and other channels
- Introduce Sotokler and explain our sourcing, custom-made, procurement, and manufacturing capabilities
- Organize introductory calls and meetings
- Follow up consistently with prospective clients
- Turn new conversations into active relationships and projects

- Identify opportunities to expand existing accounts
- Maintain a clear overview of leads, opportunities, conversations, and next steps
- Manage and update our CRM
- Contribute ideas for new business development strategies, partnerships, and outreach

Client Liaison & Account Management

- Be one of the main points of contact for a portfolio of interior designers and architecture studios
- Develop a strong understanding of each client's aesthetic, projects, working style, and needs
- Receive briefs, references, dimensions, budgets, material directions, and other requests from clients
- Translate those requests into clear information for our sourcing and product design teams
- Work closely with the internal team as they prepare vintage selections, custom-made proposals, renderings, pricing, samples, and other material
- Review proposals from a client perspective before they are presented
- Prepare and organize client-facing PowerPoint presentations
- Present sourcing and custom-made options clearly and confidently
- Discuss furniture, lighting, materials, finishes, proportions, and design references with clients
- Gather feedback and communicate it clearly internally
- Follow up on open proposals and commercial opportunities
- Maintain close relationships with clients even when there is no immediate project
- Understand what each client is working on and identify where Sotokler can help
- Develop repeat business and long-term client relationships

You should ultimately become the link between the interior designer and the Sotokler Studio team, understanding the client's creative direction while also keeping the commercial relationship moving forward. Who We Are Looking For

We are open to different backgrounds.

You may have worked in interior design, furniture, architecture, galleries, art, auction houses, hospitality, fashion, sales, business development, account management, or another relevant creative field.

We care less about having one specific career path and more about finding someone who combines commercial instinct, strong communication skills, organization, curiosity, and a very good eye.

You should have

- At least 2 years of professional experience in design, art, furniture, architecture,

sales, business development, account management, hospitality, or a related field
- Excellent fluent English, written and spoken
- Italian is a plus, but not required
- A strong interest in interiors, furniture, decorative arts, architecture, and design culture
- A strong sense of taste and visual judgement
- The ability to understand furniture references, materials, finishes, proportions, and different design directions
- Confidence communicating with interior designers, principals, project managers, and other senior clients
- Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build genuine professional relationships
- Commercial instinct without being overly sales-driven
- Excellent follow-through
- Strong organizational skills
- The ability to manage many conversations and opportunities simultaneously
- A proactive and resourceful approach
- A problem-solving mentality
- Attention to detail
- Curiosity and the ability to learn quickly

Tools & Digital Skills

You should be comfortable working with:

- CRM systems
- Google Workspace
- AI-assisted workflows and tools
- AI-supported research, sales, outreach, CRM, presentation, and administrative processes
- Digital tools for organizing clients, leads, information, and follow-ups

You do not need to be an AI or automation specialist, but you should be digitally literate and interested in using technology to work more efficiently.

Working Environment

Sotokler is a company growing quickly.

The environment is fast-paced, demanding, high-pressure, and rewarding. We work on many different projects and client requests simultaneously, and priorities can change quickly.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable taking responsibility and solving problems rather than waiting for detailed instructions.

This role will suit someone who:

- Enjoys working at a fast pace
- Is comfortable under pressure

• • Takes ownership
- Likes speaking with people and developing relationships
- Can move quickly without losing attention to detail
- Has strong cultural curiosity and a genuine interest in design
- Wants to contribute directly to the growth of a new ambitious company

There is significant room for the role to evolve as the company expands. Location The position is hybrid and based in Rome.

Our office is at Via Nomentana 305, close to Villa Torlonia.

We expect the person to be in the office at least three days per week, with some flexibility.
