The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and optimising embedded Linux systems and custom distributions based on the Yocto Project, as well as coordinating, developing and growing the team of developers.

/li liOversee technical planning, task assignment, and deliverable monitoring.
/li liResponsible for managing time and costs during project implementation.
/li liParticipate in defining technical proposals and estimating the effort required for implementation.
/li liIdentify opportunities for team growth and lead the recruitment of new professionals.
/li liDefine and implement professional development plans for employees.
/li liShare best practices and conduct code review and technical mentoring sessions.
/li liCoordinate with other teams for technical alignment and integration.
/li liDevelop, configure, and optimise custom Linux distributions using Yocto Project and BitBake.
/li liDesign and implement build system strategies, dependency management, and layer management.
/li liManage the porting of Linux to new hardware platforms and processors.
/li liDevelop drivers and kernel modules to support specific devices and peripherals.
/li liDebugging and troubleshooting at kernel and user-space level.
/li liImplement and maintain embedded security strategies,



including kernel hardening and vulnerability management in accordance with CRA and compliance standards.
/li liDocument build configurations, system architectures, and development processes.
/li /ul h3Requirements /h3 ul liDegree in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering or related field.
/li liAt least 10 years' experience in developing embedded Linux systems.
/li liExtensive experience with Yocto Project, BitBake, and OpenEmbedded.
/li liSolid knowledge of C programming and shell scripting (Bash).
/li liPractical experience with the Linux kernel: compilation, configuration, modules, device drivers, and patch management.
/li liFamiliarity with version management tools (Git) and build automation.
/li liProven experience in managing and leading technical teams.
/li liExperience in managing budgets, timelines and resources on complex projects.
/li liExperience in defining technical offers and estimating effort.
/li liAbility to mentor and develop employees.
/li liAbility to communicate complex technical concepts and manage team dynamics.
/li liGood written and verbal communication skills in Italian and English.
/li /ul h3Plus /h3 ul liExperience with ARM architectures (Cortex-A, Cortex-R) and embedded processors.
/li liSpecific experience with NXP architectures (iMX8, iMX93) and related SoCs.
/li liKnowledge of embedded cybersecurity: secure boot, trusted execution environment (TEE) and remote attestation.
/li liExperience with vulnerability management and secure OTA (Over-The-Air) updates.
/li liKnowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS) and deterministic kernels.
/li liExperience in developing IoT and edge computing applications.
/li liFamiliarity with Docker containers and containerisation technologies.
/li liExperience with configuration management systems (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
/li liExperience with common development boards (BeagleBone, STM32MP1, NXP evaluation board).
/li liContributions to open source Linux embedded projects.
