As a Database Developer, you are part of an agile team responsible for the database product “FIV” (Führungs- und Informationssystem Vertrieb – Sales Management and Information System). FIV is the central sales steering and information system for around 14,000 users in sales and controlling functions at Allianz in Germany, providing data across various platforms. It comprises 25 TB of data across five production databases.

The agile Product Team is part of the Sales Steering Tribe, which is based within Allianz Kunde und Markt GmbH. The Sales Steering Chapter – i.e., your “disciplinary home” – belongs to Allianz Technology.

What You Do:

- Development of the data warehouse based on Jira tickets: data model extensions, database programming, adjustments to ETL/ELT processes (tool: biGenius), versioning in GitHub, modeling of ETL job workflows (automation), creation of new and maintenance of existing interfaces (e.g. connecting new databases)
- Responsibility for the stable operation of your own solution (DevOps) within the data warehouse: monitoring job chains, analyzing and resolving faults, handling incidents
- Carrying out build, deployment, and recurring operational tasks (CI/CD, scripting)
- Carrying out general system integration tests (providing test data, monitoring job chains)
- Supporting/maintaining data delivery processes to downstream systems
- Accompanying, participating in, and testing upgrades and migrations of interfaces and their databases
- Regularly taking on early and late shifts at month-end
- What You Bring:

- Degree in computer science / natural sciences / engineering, or comparable qualification
- Very good SQL skills as well as confident command of at least one procedural database language (e.g. PL/SQL)
- Solid knowledge of at least one relational or analytical database system (preferably Exasol, also other database management systems such as Oracle, Snowflake, etc.) and the ability to transfer this knowledge to other systems




- Willingness to familiarize yourself with Exasol (currently the only system in use)
- Experience in developing and operating data warehouse systems, as well as willingness to combine both roles in line with the DevOps approach
- Confident handling of Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), i.e. GitHub, Jenkins
- Strong willingness and enthusiasm for continuously familiarizing yourself with new technologies, tools, and platforms – even beyond today's system landscape
- Very good English skills, level B1
- Willingness to take on early and late shifts
- Independent, team-oriented way of working
- Willingness to work efficiently with AI-based tools
- Experience working in an agile environment
- Analytical thinking skills and strong problem-solving competence
- Strong communication skills and high customer orientation
- Strong sense of quality and responsibility

Desirable:

- Several years of professional experience
- Knowledge of the programming languages Lua and Python
- Knowledge of the Exasol database
- Confident handling of automation processes
- Knowledge of an ETL tool
- Basic understanding of cloud infrastructure and AWS-based components for data (e.g., Glue), IaaS, and containers.
- Experience with PyCharm, Visual Studio Code
- Experience with Confluence, Jira
- German language skills
