ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Lead Backend Java Developer, you will anchor the technical architecture of
high-throughput e-commerce systems, designing scalable, secure, and resilient
server-side applications. Beyond hands-on development, you will act as a
technical leader—critically evaluating business requirements, challenging
assumptions, and proactively driving system improvements for platforms handling
millions of daily updates.

This role is critical to transforming high-level business goals into robust
architecture. Working directly with cross-functional leadership, international
team members, and dedicated frontend units, you will bring a strategic
consultant mindset to bridge business requirements and modern distributed design




using AI-first workflows and clean code practices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Architect and design high-performance, secure backend systems, APIs (RESTful,
GraphQL, SOAP), and relational database schemas using modern Java and
framework ecosystems.

* Lead architectural decisions by evaluating business requirements, proposing
proactive optimizations, and refactoring core services to support high-volume
data streams and caching layers.

* Optimize complex database queries and messaging flows to handle large-scale
traffic, real-time inventory synchronization, and complex order routing.

* Collaborate with cross-functional leadership, product managers, and
international teams (including overlap with Europe-based engineering groups)
to align strategy with execution.

* Own end-to-end system reliability, rapid root-cause analysis, and production
troubleshooting while establishing best practices across the engineering
workflow.
