The Opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with strong insurance functional expertise to join our Technology team.
The role will contribute to the design, development, and evolution of the company’s core insurance applications, working closely with business stakeholders, product teams, and external technology partners.
This position is ideal for professionals who combine solid engineering skills with a deep understanding of insurance processes and are eager to drive meaningful transformation in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze insurance functional requirements related to the full policy lifecycle (product setup, underwriting, issuance, administration, claims, compliance, and reporting).
- Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of core insurance applications and integration layers.
- Work on integrations with internal and external systems (distributors, banks, brokers, and digital channels) through APIs, microservices, and modern integration frameworks.
- Identify, design, and implement automation opportunities to optimize business processes, improve operational efficiency, and reduce manual activities.
- Leverage Artificial Intelligence solutions, including Microsoft Copilot and Copilot Agents, to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support business innovation.
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to evaluate and implement AI-driven and automation initiatives aligned with organizational objectives.
- Produce clear, structured, and maintainable technical documentation.
- Identify and propose innovative technical solutions to improve performance, scalability, security, user experience, and digital transformation capabilities.
Other Responsibilities
- Support data migration activities from legacy systems, ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application issues in production environments.
- Work on integrations with internal and external systems (distributors, banks, brokers, digital channels) through APIs and microservices.
- Monitor and control security-related activities through dedicated dashboards, automated reporting, and KPI tracking, ensuring timely identification of risks, vulnerabilities, compliance issues, and remediation actions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 6+ years of experience as a Software Engineer.
- Strong knowledge of Java and/or .NET technologies.
- Experience working with relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle).
- Experience with API‑based architectures, microservices, and cloud‑ready designs.
- AI competence
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) and native Italian speaker.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in cross‑functional teams.
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Proactive mindset, adaptability, and strong ownership of deliverables.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of insurance systems (Policy Administration Systems, claims, distribution channels).
The expected salary range for this position is 42,900 - 57,300 EUR per year. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
