POSITION SUMMARY:
The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating daily housekeeping operations to ensure exceptional standards of cleanliness, presentation, and service delivery across guest staterooms, public areas, open decks, and crew accommodations. This role provides direct oversight of housekeeping team members, ensuring all assigned duties are performed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with company standards and luxury hospitality expectations. Reporting to the Chief Housekeeping Manager, the Housekeeping Supervisor supports the delivery of a seamless and memorable guest experience through effective leadership, attention to detail, and proactive service.
The position requires strong organizational, communication, and supervisory skills, with responsibility for maintaining quality standards, operational efficiency, and compliance with all safety, environmental, public health, and company requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The main duties and responsibilities of the Housekeeping Supervisor are, but are not limited to:
- Coordinate and supervise housekeeping activities across guest staterooms, public areas (day and night operations), and crew accommodations.
- Assign duties, responsibilities, and workstations to ensure efficient workflow, productivity, and seamless service delivery.
- Conduct daily inspections of staterooms and assigned areas to verify compliance with company standards, brand expectations, and quality requirements.
- Oversee luggage handling operations during embarkation, disembarkation, and turnaround activities, ensuring efficiency and guest satisfaction.
- Monitor daily operational requirements and adjust work plans based on itinerary changes, weather conditions, operational demands, and guest needs.
- Ensure housekeeping activities are carried out in accordance with established procedures, service standards, and departmental objectives.
- Prepare the team for internal audits and USPH inspections together with Chief Housekeeping
Manager.
- Supervise, motivate, coach, and support housekeeping team members in achieving departmental goals and service excellence.
- Provide day-to-day leadership and guidance while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct daily pre-shift meetings and briefings to communicate operational priorities, service expectations, and relevant updates.
- Support onboarding, training, coaching, and cross-training initiatives to enhance employee performance and operational flexibility.
- Assist the Chief Housekeeping Manager with performance evaluations, employee development plans, and corrective action processes, as required.
- Take ownership of the guest experience within assigned areas, ensuring the highest levels of cleanliness, comfort, and guest satisfaction.
- Anticipate guest preferences and needs, delivering personalized service that consistently exceeds expectations.
- Respond promptly, professionally, and effectively to guest requests, concerns, and service recovery opportunities, ensuring timely resolution and follow-up.
- Promote a guest-centric environment through attention to detail, proactive engagement, and continuous service improvement.
- Collaborate closely with the Chief Housekeeping Manager to review daily operational plans, staffing requirements, inspection results, and guest feedback.
- Communicate company policies, procedures, service initiatives, and operational updates effectively to team members.
- Review guest comments, quality assurance findings, and operational reports to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Support departmental projects and initiatives designed to enhance efficiency, productivity, and guest satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable ISM, ISO, SQM, USPH, environmental, occupational health and safety, and company policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate sanitation logs, inspection records, quality documentation, and timekeeping records.
- Support the achievement of departmental key performance indicators (KPIs), quality targets, and operational objectives.
- Participate in required meetings, training sessions, drills, inspections,
and company programs.
- Promote a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement throughout the housekeeping operation.
- Monitor inventory levels of linen, uniforms, guest amenities, cleaning supplies, and housekeeping equipment.
- Prepare and submit requisitions for departmental supplies and equipment in accordance with established procedures.
- Support cost-control initiatives through the proper handling, storage, distribution, and utilization of departmental resources.
- Conduct regular inspections of storage areas and housekeeping workspaces to ensure organization, cleanliness, inventory accuracy, and loss prevention.
- Assist in minimizing waste, damage, and unnecessary expenditures while maintaining service excellence.
- Review and audit crew timecards to ensure accuracy and compliance with company requirements.
- Conduct routine inspections of workstations, lockers, pantries, and housekeeping service areas.
- Participate in emergency duties, safety drills, and shipboard responsibilities as assigned.
- Perform any additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Chief Housekeeping Manager or senior management.
- Ensure the Team consistently meets or Exceed department performance targets in compliance with established company standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of two (2) years in a successful supervisory role, with guest-facing service experience in a luxury environment.
- A combination of education equivalent to a high school diploma or other education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Comprehensive knowledge & understanding of ultra-luxury hospitality standards and bespoke guest service delivery
- Strong emotional intelligence is required with resourceful thinking and a working knowledge of conflict resolution
- Ability to fulfill the above-mentioned Key Responsibilities and all reasonable company requests.
- Conversational ability in an additional language is preferred (German, Portuguese, French, Spanish, Mandarin, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, etc).
