Offer Description
The research activity will focus on the development and validation of innovative and sustainable strategies
for the management of the main hazelnut insect pests, with particular emphasis on *Halyomorpha halys*,
native stink bugs, and the hazelnut weevil (*Curculio nucum*). Throughout the three-year project,



field
monitoring will be carried out in different hazelnut-growing areas to investigate pest population dynamics,
identify the most susceptible developmental stages, and optimize integrated pest management protocols.
Environmentally friendly control methods will be evaluated, including aggregation pheromones and attractand-
kill systems, natural repellents and insecticidal substances (such as kaolin, zeolite, and plant-derived
extracts), protective netting, entomopathogenic fungi, and trap-cropping strategies integrated within pushpull
approaches.
