In this role you will lead piping design and layout activities for life sciences projects in a multinational setting. You will own piping design documentation, from P&IDs; to GA drawings, ensuring GMP and regulatory compliance. You will collaborate across disciplines and mentor junior designers, using AVEVA E3D to develop robust 3D models. - Lead piping engineering documentation including isometrics and GA in line with project requirements
- Own piping design and layout activities from concept to as-built, ensuring safety, GMP, constructability and maintainability
- Develop layouts and solutions compliant with international codes and client specs
- Identify and mitigate safety, operational, and regulatory risks related to piping systems
- Review and comment on P&IDs; maintain 3D piping models in AVEVA E3D; coordinate with other disciplines
- Model pipe supports per stress engineering requirements and project specs
- Coordinate with external parties and Wood offices for piping design development




- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior piping designers and specialists
- Support continuous improvement of piping design methods and digital tools
- Extensive piping design and plant layout experience in Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical, Chemical, Petrochemical, Energy, or Process industries
- Strong knowledge of ASME, EN, ISO codes and regulatory requirements
- Solid understanding of materials of construction, insulation, valves, and instrumentation related to piping
- Proven ability to design and route major process and utility piping per P&IDs; and project specs
- Experience with complex piping systems (lined, jacketed, hygienic, specialty) including fabrication, installation, and maintenance considerations
- Proficiency in AVEVA E3D and related 3D design tools; knowledge of other 3D modelling software is a plus
- Risk-based design, safe plant layout, quality management systems, and engineering change control experience
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills
- Professional proficiency in English (written and spoken)
- Willingness to travel for assignments within Italy and internationally
