ph3Laboratory Technician (Refrigeration) /h3pRole Purpose: The Laboratory Technician operates within the Innovation Lab, the company area dedicated to performing functional and performance testing on electronic devices used for the control and regulation of commercial refrigeration systems (e.g., refrigerated display cases, bottle coolers, condensing units, etc.).
The role is responsible for the preparation, execution, and validation of functional tests for electronic controllers, both on prototypes and on products intended for market release, once installed in final applications.
In addition, the position actively supports the development of new products, with a focus on improving overall performance and quality.
/ph3Key Responsibilities /h3ulliAnalyze technical documentation and identify the resources required for test execution /liliDefine and plan test procedures and test plans /liliPrepare test benches, including wiring modifications, installation and positioning of measurement instrumentation /liliExecute functional tests, performance tests, and validation activities on electronic controllers installed in real refrigeration systems /liliMonitor, collect, and analyze test data /liliPrepare detailed technical reports, including configurations, methodologies, and results /liliSupport product development, prototyping, and system tuning activities /liliManage, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment /liliHandle laboratory technical documentation /liliCollaborate with cross?functional teams (Engineering, Operations, Quality, Finance) and international teams /li /ulh3Technical Requirements /h3ulliKnowledge of refrigeration cycle principles and key components (compressors, evaporators, condensers, valves, refrigerants, etc.)
/liliUnderstanding of commercial refrigeration applications /liliExperience with measurement instrumentation and data acquisition systems /liliBasic knowledge of electronics, with the ability to operate electronic systems /liliAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics (controllers and applications) /liliBasic experience measuring, interpreting, and verifying electrical signals and I/O functionality of electronic controllers /liliGood knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) /li /ulh3Preferred Qualifications /h3ulliPrevious experience in laboratory testing or engineering environments /liliKnowledge of relevant industry standards /liliFamiliarity with advanced data acquisition tools and analysis software /liliExperience with automation systems or programmable controllers /liliBasic technical English proficiency /li /ulh3Soft Skills /h3ulliStrong teamwork and cross?functional collaboration skills /liliHands?on attitude and problem?solving mindset /liliAccuracy and attention to detail in testing and analysis activities /liliOrganizational skills and ability to manage priorities /liliProactivity and ability to interact with different stakeholders /li /ulh3Education /h3ulliTechnical diploma (electronics or electrical engineering) or equivalent qualification with relevant practical experience /liliBackground or experience in thermodynamics/refrigeration is considered an asset /li /ulh3Equal Opportunity Employer /h3pCopeland is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
