Offer Description Mulini SRL is looking for a talented and motivated Research Engineer to join our European team and contribute to REAL-PETS , a newly funded Horizon Europe project scheduled to begin shortly. Working alongside leading institutions across Europe, you will help develop practical privacy‐enhancing and security technologies for real‐world web, mobile, and IoT ecosystems.

In this role, you will bridge the gap between cutting‐edge research and real‐world systems, working at the intersection of systems engineering, cybersecurity, and applied AI for networked environments. You will design, build, and evaluate robust systems that push the boundaries of what is possible while maintaining a strong security posture.

Duration: 36 months, with possibility of extension

Responsibilities

Design and develop scalable, reliable systems that incorporate AI models into production environments

Identify, analyze, and mitigate vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies in systems pipelines, related AI models, and infrastructure

Collaborate cross-functionally with research scientists, software engineers, and product teams

Publish findings, write technical reports, and present work to internal and external stakeholders

Requirements

MSc in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field

Solid understanding of networks principles

Proficiency in Python and at least one systems-level language (C, C++, Rust, or Go)

Fluency in English





Preferred Qualifications

Hands‐on experience with applied ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX)

Hands‐on experience with applied machine learning frameworks, such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX, will be considered an advantage.

Specific Requirements

Ability to design, develop, and evaluate reliable and scalable systems incorporating AI models.

Ability to identify and analyse security vulnerabilities affecting systems pipelines, AI models, and infrastructure, and to propose appropriate mitigation strategies.

Ability to work effectively with research scientists, software engineers, and product teams in a multidisciplinary and international environment.

EU citizenship or permanent residency in the European Union is required.
