POSITION SUMMARY:
Dynamic, community oriented leader for the Rome Area Before and After School Summer Day Camp Program. Able to engage staff, participants and the community in ensuring an energetic committed enrichment program success.
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Under the direction and supervision of the School Age Child Care Regional Director, and in harmony with the Christian nature and purposes, and the established policies, goals and objectives of the YMCA of the Greater Tri-Valley, the School Age Coordinator works as a supportive leader among staff to provide effective programs and a warm, safe, loving and nurturing environment in which the child can grow physically, emotionally and intellectually. Oversees programs and staff working within the Rome YMCA YCare area, works with area schools, ensures NYS OCFS regulations are followed.



Provides both direct care and administrative support to program full year including vacation days, summer and school year.

Essential Functions
1. Develops, implements and manages operating plans, events and schedules to promote program and/or membership growth and retention for the YMCA. Executes strategies to ensure that members and/or program participants connect with one another and connect with the YMCA.
2. Recruits, trains, develops, evaluates, recognizes, holds accountable and directs staff and volunteers in assigned areas, in order to ensure safe, high-quality member focus
