The Department of Mathematics at the University of Pisa invites applications for two 2-year postdoctoral positions funded by the ERC Starting Grant "ConFine" (Concentrations and Fine Properties of PDE-constrained measures), led by Prof. Adolfo Arroyo-Rabasa.
Salary / Remuneration:
Gross administration amount €64,750 per year (standard net salary approx. €2,700/month; researchers meeting the Italian Rientro dei Cervelli tax exemption criteria receive approx. €3,400 – €3,450 net/month).

Selected candidates may choose to work on one or more of the following research directions:
- Advancing the state of the art concerning the flat chain conjecture (GMT, Harmonic Analysis)
- Aspects concerning Bouchitté’s vanishing mass conjecture (Calculus of Variations, GMT, Harmonic Analysis, Optimal Transport)
- Fine properties of varifolds with bounded first variations (Calculus of Variations, GMT)
- Fine properties of BD and BV^A functions (Calculus of Variations, GMT, Harmonic Analysis)
- Optimal transport in the flow of measures along tangential directions (GMT, Optimal Transport)
Candidates will collaborate closely with the PI and group members, participate in project workshops, and contribute to group activities. Teaching is not compulsory, though opportunities can be arranged for career development.
