The Senior Surveyor plays a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, quality, and continuous improvement of surveying processes.

Subject Matter Expertise and Continuous Improvement:ul liServe as a trusted expert on maritime classification principles, regulatory frameworks, and industry standards, providing guidance to internal teams and stakeholders.
/li liProactively monitor developments in maritime law, safety requirements, and technological advancements, recommending and implementing enhancements to survey techniques and safety programs.

Comprehensive Inspection and Reporting:ul liCarry out detailed surveys and inspections on a variety of classed ships, offshore installations, and marine assets, verifying compliance with all classification society rules and statutory mandates.
/li liEnsure all survey findings are meticulously documented through timely, accurate, and technically sound reports and certificates that conform to organisational and regulatory standards.

Operational Planning and Team Leadership:ul liDevelop, schedule, and oversee surveying activities, coordinating resources to optimise operational efficiency and quality outcomes.
/li liAct as a mentor to junior surveyors, providing expert advice, training, and performance feedback to foster professional development within the team.

Client Engagement and Relationship Management:ul liBuild and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with clients by offering expert consultation and resolving technical issues effectively and promptly.

/li /ul /li /ul h3bEducation /b /h3 pMaster's Degree in Naval Engineering /p h3bQualifications /b /h3 ul liMinimum 3 years' experience working as a Surveyor or minimum 6 years' experience in the engineering or inspection/survey fields with an IACS member Classification Society.
/li liUnderstanding of RINA strategic technical positioning in the sector of the marine industry /li liProficiency in the English language commensurate with the scope of classification, statutory certification, related services and, before assignment, with their future work.
/li liAbility to develop a working knowledge of RINA Rules, Guides, statutory regulations, and related instructions, as well as the RINA Employee Safety Policy.
/li liAbility to understand engineering plans and have knowledge of shipbuilding practices and ship operations.
/li liAbility, in general, to perform either,
1) new building surveys: to assess the suitability of certified materials and products supplied for the new building, to assess that hull, machinery and equipment have been built in compliance with rules and regulations by means of compulsory inspections, tests and trials, to issue Certificates, Reports, Records and Status in compliance with rules and regulations.
And/or:
2) ship in service surveys: to assess that hull, machinery and equipment have been maintained in compliance with rules and regulations by means of compulsory overall inspections, tests and trials, to assess and follow-up the repair works to hull, machinery and equipment to assign a new period of class and a new period of validity to statutory Certificates in compliance with rules and regulations by means of overall and close-up inspections, verification upon dismantling, tests and trials (including surveys for Admission to Class of ships in service), to attend major conversion works according with rules and regulations, to identify the deficiencies to be rectified (if any) and assess whether immediate repair is necessary or a condition may be issued with an appropriate due date, to follow-up as required by rules and regulations any repair work or due to previous outstanding conditions, to assess whether the deficiencies identified (if any)
may be linked with potential failure of the Ship Management System, to endorse Certificates, issue Reports and Status in compliance with rules and regulations.
And/or: Marine Management Systems audits And/or:
1) testing activities and service suppliers/manufacturers certification: to assess the suitability of certified materials and products in compliance with applicable rules to issue Certificates and prepare Reports and Status in compliance with procedures.

/li liKnowledge of computer programs or software packages related to job responsibilities.

/li /ul h3bCompensation Data /b /h3 pThe salary range and job grade for this position are defined based on objective, role-related criteria and responsibilities in accordance with bCCNL RINA /b (CNEL code I480).
The gross annual salary range foreseen is between b€****** and €****** /b and will be finally defined on candidate's professional experience, qualifications, competencies and overall alignment with the role.
/p pIn addition, an annual variable compensation component is provided, based on both Company and individual performance objectives in accordance with the current policies and collective agreements.
