Cloud | Platform Architect
About the Role
In partnership with the CTO, the Cloud / Platform Architect leads the definition and evolution of the SaaS platform architecture, designing scalable, resilient, secure, and observable cloud infrastructure. The role ensures technological consistency and high engineering standards through the adoption of Platform Engineering principles. This person also works closely with the company’s security functions to ensure the security and compliance of the SaaS platform and its underlying infrastructure, while establishing robust observability practices to support reliability, performance, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS, including cloud-native components such as Kubernetes, networking, IAM, and secrets management.
• Drive infrastructure automation through Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CDK, or Pulumi, as well as GitOps and CI/CD practices.
• Define, implement, and evolve observability capabilities across the platform, including centralized logging, metrics,
distributed tracing, dashboards, alerting, and service health monitoring.
• Establish and maintain reliability frameworks based on SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs, supporting proactive performance management and operational visibility.
• Build observability standards and best practices to improve troubleshooting, incident detection, root cause analysis, and platform performance optimization.
• Partner with engineering teams to embed observability into applications and infrastructure by design, ensuring appropriate instrumentation and actionable telemetry.
• Ensure technical security and compliance through infrastructure hardening, access control, and patch management in coordination with Security teams.
• Define and maintain operational resilience practices, including backup and restore strategies, disaster recovery plans, recovery testing, and operational runbooks.
