A technology company based in the Turin area, operating in the semiconductor industry, specializes in the design and development of Automated Test Equipment (ATE) solutions for advanced semiconductor testing.
As part of its strategic growth and continued investment in next-generation semiconductor test technologies, the company is strengthening its Software Engineering organization to support the development of innovative ATE platforms dedicated to the Analog and Mixed-Signal semiconductor market.
To support this evolution, the company is looking for a Senior Software Architecture Manager with extensive experience in software architectures for semiconductor test systems.
This is a strategic role for a highly experienced professional who will bring strong domain expertise, drive key architectural decisions, and become a technical reference point for software development within the organization.
The successful candidate will initially work alongside the current Software Manager, contributing to the definition of the software strategy, mentoring the engineering team, and supporting the company's long-term technology roadmap.
As the organization continues to evolve, the role is expected to progressively expand, including broader leadership and managerial responsibilities within the Software Engineering Department.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and drive the software architecture of next-generation Automated Test Equipment platforms.
- Lead the design and evolution of embedded software solutions for Analog and Mixed-Signal semiconductor testing applications.
- Act as the company's technical reference for software architecture related to semiconductor test systems.
- Contribute to the definition of software frameworks, testing strategies and platform architecture for future products.
- Work closely with Hardware, Electronics, Systems and Application Engineering teams to define robust hardware/software interfaces.
- Introduce industry best practices in software architecture, software quality, modularity, maintainability and scalability.
- Mentor and technically guide the Software Engineering team, facilitating knowledge transfer and supporting the team's professional growth.
- Collaborate with international engineering teams, contributing to the development and coordination of future software activities.
- Support strategic technology decisions and contribute to the long-term evolution of the software organization.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or an equivalent technical discipline.
- At least 15 years of experience in embedded software development, with significant exposure to Automated Test Equipment or semiconductor testing systems.
- Proven experience defining software architectures for Analog and Mixed-Signal semiconductor test platforms.
- Strong expertise in embedded software development using C/C++.
- Solid knowledge of RTOS, embedded systems and hardware/software integration.
- Experience working with microcontrollers, SoCs and FPGA-based platforms.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor testing methodologies and ATE architectures.
- Ability to operate as a senior technical leader within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Professional working proficiency in English.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with one or more of the following technologies is considered an advantage:
- STM32 platforms
- STM32CubeIDE
- Embedded Linux
- Yocto
- FreeRTOS
- EtherCAT
- Eclipse Zenoh
- FPGA interfacing and VHDL development
- CI/CD methodologies and software quality processes
Previous experience gained within companies operating in the semiconductor Automated Test Equipment industry will be considered a strong advantage.
