Working within the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and reporting to the Head of Sector, User Support, the AudioVisual (A/V) Solutions Specialist acts as the Institute's audiovisual specialist, supporting the smooth delivery, maintenance, and continuous improvement of audiovisual services and technologies across the EUI. Working alongside a small team of outsourced A/V technicians, and liaising very closely with the A/V coordinator, the Specialist oversees all technical aspects of events, meetings and conferences, providing end-to-end support for in-person, hybrid and online activities while ensuring high-quality, reliable, innovative, and user-friendly audiovisual solutions for the EUI’s community.

The main responsibilities of the role include:

- Technical Expertise and Service Improvement: As the Institute’s subject matter specialist in audiovisual technologies, the A/V Solutions Specialist provides technical advice on A/V solutions, monitors industry developments and emerging technologies, and recommends service enhancements and technological upgrades. The role contributes to the continuous improvement of support strategies,

procedures and policies, helping to ensure efficient, reliable, and user-focused service delivery.
- Stakeholder Engagement and User Support: Acting as the primary point of contact for audiovisual matters, the Specialist builds effective relationships with academic, professional staff and external stakeholders. The role requires translating technical information into clear and accessible guidance, supporting end users in the effective use of audiovisual and collaboration tools, and ensuring that audiovisual services meet the needs of the Institute’s community.
- Activity Coordination and Resource Management: The A/V Solutions Specialist works closely with outsourced staff, planning and executing day-to-day activities, distributing tasks and providing guidance and coaching where required. The role also contributes to budget planning, procurement activities and tender procedures, supporting the efficient allocation of resources and the development of technical specifications for A/V-related purchases and contracts.
- Infrastructure Management and Operational Support: The Specialist is supervising the installation, configuration, maintenance and lifecycle management of audiovisual equipment, software and related services. This includes monitoring system performance, troubleshooting technical issues, coordinating repairs and maintenance activities,

maintaining equipment inventories, and ensuring the reliability and availability of A/V infrastructure across the Institute.
- Administrative Coordination and Project Support: The role involves managing and prioritising support requests through the Institute’s ticketing system, coordinating with external suppliers and service providers, contributing to ICT communications and user documentation, and participating in working groups and special projects. The Specialist also supports the delivery of broader ICT initiatives and performs other related duties as required.

What we offer:

- A role in an inspiring community of young scholars with an exclusive focus on master, doctoral and post-doctoral studies;
- A truly multicultural community of 1100 academics at all career stages and an administrative staff of approximately 85 different nationalities.
- The commitment to a genuine culture of equality, diversity and inclusion, and to attracting, encouraging and retaining a diverse and highly qualified workforce;
- A world-class research library, the Historical Archives of the European Union, and many other excellent research facilities;
- Language courses and soft skills training opportunities;
- Access to all EUI facilities: library, crèche, cafeteria, gym, participation in seminars and workshops;
- Competitive salary package including health and pension plan;
