POSITION: DATA ENGINEER | DATABRICKS - FULL REMOTE

? 1. YOUR ROLE

- You will join a technical team working on the development and evolution of a modern data platform based on Databricks.
- You will work as a Data Engineer, focusing on data ingestion, transformation and integration rather than data analysis or frontend reporting.
- You will be responsible for designing and implementing data ingestion pipelines and processes within the Databricks environment.
- You will contribute to the migration of legacy code and data processes towards the new data platform.
- You will work extensively with SQL to analyze, transform and migrate existing data processes.
- You will collaborate with technical and functional stakeholders to ensure data is correctly ingested, transformed and made available for downstream applications.
- You will work in a fully remote, international environment, contributing to challenging data engineering and data platform projects.
- You will have the opportunity to develop your expertise in modern data architectures, Databricks and cloud-based data platforms.

?️ 2. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

- Design, develop and maintain data ingestion pipelines using Databricks.
- Develop data transformation and integration processes within the data platform.
- Ingest data from different sources into the new data platform.




- Analyze existing legacy processes and migrate legacy SQL code and data workflows to the new platform.
- Write, optimize and maintain complex SQL queries.
- Ensure data quality, consistency and reliability throughout ingestion and transformation processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data pipelines and data processing.
- Collaborate with other Data Engineers, developers and technical stakeholders.
- Support the evolution and optimization of the data platform.
- Document data pipelines, processes and technical solutions.
- Support the integration of data with downstream applications and reporting tools.
- When required, collaborate with Power BI specialists or frontend teams to ensure the correct availability of data for reporting purposes.

✅ 3. REQUIREMENTS

- At least 3 years of professional experience as a Data Engineer.
- Solid and proven experience with Databricks in a Data Engineering environment.
- Experience with data ingestion, data pipelines and data transformation.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and experience working with complex queries and data transformations.
- Experience in migrating legacy code or data processes to modern data platforms.
- Good understanding of data engineering concepts and modern data platforms.
- Ability to troubleshoot data-related technical issues.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Fluent English.
- Italian language skills are considered a strong plus.
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
- Availability to work full-time.

The following will be considered a plus:

- Experience with Power BI.




- Experience in developing datasets or data models for reporting purposes.
- Knowledge of cloud-based data architectures.
- Experience with ETL/ELT processes.
- Familiarity with data lake or lakehouse architectures.
- Experience with additional Databricks technologies and tools.
- Experience in large-scale data migration projects.
- Knowledge of Python or other programming languages commonly used in data engineering.

- Full Remote.

? 4. WHAT WE OFFER

- The daily rate for this role ranges from €200 to €300. The position is offered under a VAT-registered freelance collaboration (P.IVA). Placement within the range will be determined based on technical skills, specific experience in the role and the outcome of the selection process, according to objective and neutral criteria. In the case of candidates with exceptional qualifications compared to the indicated range, a revision may be considered subject to internal approval.
