In this role you support agribusiness and value chain development to strengthen food systems. You work with public and private stakeholders to formulate, implement and evaluate investment policies and projects. You’ll contribute to capacity building, knowledge sharing, and investment strategy across countries within FAO’s framework. Your work helps shift agrifood systems toward inclusive, sustainable growth at scale. This is an opportunity to shape investment solutions in collaboration with multiple partners and align with FAO’s mission.
Participate in multidisciplinary teams to identify and prepare investment and finance solutions across agrifood sectors
Support implementation of investment solutions and prepare final evaluations
Contribute to studies and strategies for sector investment plans and programmes
Promote inclusive and sustainable food systems involving producers, private sector, civil society and governments
Support capacity development for government staff, non-state actors and private sector organizations
Prepare reports for governments and financing partners
Promote knowledge sharing and best practices at international events and with partners
Foster relationships with Programme Priority Areas, FAO units and Decentralized Offices for synergies




Support resource mobilization in line with the FAO Strategic Framework
Analyze agrifood value chains and identify investment constraints and opportunities
Assess policy issues, crowding‑out factors for private investments, and agribusiness solutions
Design country‑level interventions and investments in value chains with stakeholders and financiers
Analyze and address agrifinance constraints and develop de‑risking and blended finance options
Develop knowledge products on agribusiness, marketing and value chain development
Participate in public‑private platforms and policy dialogues to scale investments
Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in agriculture, agro‑industry, business administration, agribusiness, economics, agricultural economics finance or closely related field
Five years of relevant experience in value chain analysis, agribusiness and market development, including investment operations in developing countries
Working knowledge of English (C) and intermediate knowledge of another FAO official language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish)
