CETENA, a Fincantieri Group company, is looking for an IT Application Specialist with experience in the naval sector and on-board monitoring systems, to support the development, delivery and evolution of digital solutions dedicated to experimental measurements, energy efficiency and ship decarbonisation.

The resource will join a multidisciplinary team composed of naval engineers, software developers, data analysts and naval domain specialists, assuming the role of technical referent for software development aspects.

The candidate will contribute to the delivery and development of IT products based on microservice architectures, web interfaces and numerical simulation models, working in close collaboration with the external development team and domain specialists.

The role combines IT technical skills, knowledge of the software development cycle and operational coordination skills. The person will follow the evolution of the platform, monitor the progress of activities against the project roadmap, support the definition of requirements collected from the client and contribute to development, testing, release and maintenance activities.

Activities

Product evolution and coordination of external development activities





- Collect and formalise the functional requirements of digital solutions.
- Draft technical specifications for the software development team.
- Collaborate with the external development team and domain experts in designing new functionalities.
- Monitor the progress of activities against the roadmap and operational planning.
- Identify and promptly report delays, critical issues, dependencies and technical risks.
- Support the technical validation of implemented software solutions and algorithms.
- Contribute to the development of advanced solutions based on digital twins and ML algorithms.

Delivery and configuration of monitoring solutions

- Support product customisation for specific installation in terms of software and hardware.
- Configure and commission monitoring software platforms.
- Prepare project and installation technical documentation.
- Support platform integration with IT systems and naval automation systems.
- Carry out inspections at shipyards and on board ships during delivery and testing phases.
- Manage the technical relationship with clients, suppliers and project stakeholders.
- Provide training activities for crews and client technical personnel.

Requirements

- Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering or equivalent STEM disciplines.
- 3-5 years of experience in software development, application management or in IT technical roles.
- Good knowledge of the software development lifecycle.




- Experience in developing or maintaining web applications and client/server systems.
- Good knowledge of at least one among C#, .NET, Java, Python, Type Script, Angular or Java Script.
- Knowledge of relational databases and SQL, e.g. MySQL/MariaDB or PostgreSQL.
- Knowledge of REST APIs and main system integration concepts.
- Familiarity with Git and development lifecycle management tools.
- Familiarity with Cyber Security and ISO 27001 issues.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively interface with developers and external technical suppliers.
- Good knowledge of English.

Preferential requirements

- Knowledge of Docker and Dev Ops practices.
- Familiarity with Keycloak, OAuth2 or OpenID Connect.
- Knowledge of industrial or naval protocols such as Modbus, OPC or NMEA.
- Experience in industrial systems, IoT, data acquisition or maritime IT.
- Experience in monitoring applications, data analytics or ship manoeuvrability.

Compensation & Vantaggi Package

- For the position in question, the gross annual salary will be between € 32,000 and € 41,000.
