About the role

We are seeking multiple experienced and safety-focused Plant Operators to join our civil construction and maintenance team. The role involves operating excavators and other heavy plant to deliver Council’s works program across a range of construction, earthworks, road, drainage and maintenance projects.

Responsibilities include:

- Safely operate excavators and other heavy plant in accordance with licences, procedures and competency standards.
- Undertake civil construction, earthworks, maintenance activities and manual labouring duties as required.
- Transport and coordinate plant and equipment between work sites.
- Identify hazards, report equipment issues and maintain plant in a safe and serviceable condition.
- Complete pre-starts, risk assessments, equipment logs and incident reports.
- Work effectively with Council staff, contractors and project stakeholders.
- Maintain high standards of safety, quality, productivity and customer service.
- Participate in Toolbox meetings, training and multi-skilling activities.

We’re looking for people who have:

- Certificate III in Civil Construction Plant Operations or relevant experience.
- Excavator LE competency/licence.
- HR Heavy Rigid Driver Licence.




- General Construction Induction (White Card)
- Reliable, strong team player with good communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Committed to safe, high-quality work and willing to assist with general civil construction and labouring duties.
