.TEMPORARY PROJECT MANAGER – AUTOMATED INTRALOGISTICS PLANTS

Location: Varese
Salary: 40.000€/45.000€ (for 6 months contract) + company car + welfare

The Opportunity
An international industrial group operating in automated intralogistics and smart automation systems is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead complex CAPEX & OPEX projects related to large-scale material handling and parcel sorting plants.
The role involves full ownership of project execution, from planning to delivery, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and ensuring compliance with scope, time, quality, and budget targets.
This is a temporary assignment (initially 6 months) , created to support organizational growth and increased project volume .
Key Responsibilities

- Lead end-to-end project lifecycle: planning, execution, monitoring, and closure
- Define project scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables
- Coordinate cross-functional project teams dedicated to specific customer orders
- Manage internal and external stakeholders’ expectations
- Control budgets, costs, KPIs, and project performance
- Identify risks and implement mitigation and contingency plans
- Oversee change management processes and contract variations
- Ensure quality standards, regulatory compliance, and confidentiality
- Report progress to senior project leadership

Profile Requirements

- 8–10 years of experience as Project Manager in complex industrial or plant-based environments
- Background in automation, intralogistics, engineering plants, or similar sectors
- Strong experience managing CAPEX & OPEX projects




- Proven leadership and team coordination skills
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities
- High level of organization, autonomy, and decision-making capability
- PMP certification is considered a plus

Contract & Working Conditions

- Temporary role – 6 months , full-time
- Open to freelance / VAT registered professionals
- Hybrid working model (1 day per week remote)
- Approximately 30% international travel
- Competitive compensation aligned with seniority and contract type
