We are looking for participants
currently residing in Italy
to contribute to an
AI Food Image Collection Project
.
The goal of this project is to collect high-quality images, short videos, and supporting information about
home-cooked meals
to help improve AI systems that understand food, ingredients, meal preparation, and nutrition.
If you regularly cook at home and are comfortable following detailed instructions, this is an opportunity to participate in approved meal-based tasks.
Complete training materials and detailed project guidelines will be provided before you begin.
What You Will Do
For each approved meal submission, you will be required to:
Prepare one meal from scratch at home.
Photograph every ingredient before cooking.
Weigh each ingredient using a
digital kitchen weighing scale
.
Take one photo of each ingredient
with the weighing scale visible
.
Take one photo of each ingredient
without the weighing scale
.
Take a clear photo of the final plated dish.
Record a
3–5 second video
of the final plated dish.
Enter the required meal and ingredient information.
Follow the provided photo, metadata, and file-naming instructions.
Upload all required files through the project workflow.
Participant Requirements
Applicants must:
Currently reside in
Italy
.
Own or have access to a
digital kitchen weighing scale
.
Own a smartphone capable of taking clear photos and videos.
Be able to prepare meals at home.




Have reliable internet access.
Be comfortable following detailed written instructions.
Previous experience in AI projects, data collection, annotation, or food photography is helpful but
not required
.
Important Project Guidelines
Meals must be
prepared from scratch
.
Restaurant meals, ready-to-eat meals, frozen prepared meals, and leftovers are
not accepted
.
Meal ideas may need to be approved before preparation to avoid duplicate submissions.
Photos must be clear, focused, and taken in good lighting.
All required ingredients and food items must be clearly visible.
Submissions will be reviewed for quality.
Minor corrections may be requested where possible.
Successful participants may be eligible to complete
multiple meal submissions
