What we are looking for:
A highly adaptable data analyst and scientific modeller who enjoys working at the intersection of theory, data, and innovation. Curious and pragmatic who excels at bringing structure to complex, abstract challenges and equally comfortable with mathematical modelling as well as collaborating cross-functionally and translating technical insights for non-expert stakeholders.
Tasks will include:
- Transform business or scientific challenges into well-structured quantitative questions suitable for mathematical modelling, with a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
- Develop, validate, and interpret theoretical and numerical models across domains, from aviation to renewable energy systems, from operational safety to social impact.
- Partner with multidisciplinary teams (engineers, scientists, business leads) to integrate modelling outputs into core decision-making frameworks.
- Apply Machine Learning and AI techniques where relevant to enhance predictive power, optimise systems, or uncover patterns in complex datasets.
- Present technical results effectively through clear written reports, visualisations, and oral presentations tailored to both expert and non-expert stakeholders.
- Adapt quickly to new domains, tools, and methodologies with curiosity and analytical rigor.

- Master Degree in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or another relevant STEM field.
- Proven experience in theoretical and numerical modelling, with a strong ability to formulate ambiguous, real-world problems mathematically and solve them using computational methods.
- Ability to operate outside the primary domain of expertise, abstracting methods from one field (e.g., physics, engineering) and adapting them to solve problems in unfamiliar domains.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken), with a track record of translating complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: Python, R, Java.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (PhD preferred) in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or another relevant STEM field. Alternatively, professional experience applying ML/AI models to real-world datasets or scientific problems.
