Overview

As Data Science Lead you guide a small team of two data scientists while staying hands-on in delivering high-impact data solutions. You translate data into business value through ML, predictive modeling, and analytics, collaborating with leaders across product, engineering, and business to drive strategy. You own the data science roadmap and ensure projects align with company objectives. This hybrid role blends leadership with active coding and model development for tangible impact.

Responsabilità

- Lead, coach and develop a two-person data science team
- Own the most complex projects end-to-end and contribute code and reviews
- Plan, prioritise and manage the team's backlog and capacity
- Translate business challenges into data-driven solutions
- Own and translate the data science roadmap into actionable plans
- Build, deploy and maintain ML models to forecast and optimize
- Analyze large datasets and present insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Improve the data science pipeline to meet analytics needs




- Collaborate with business leaders, product teams and engineers
- Stay up-to-date with data science, AI and ML trends for continuous improvement

Requisiti fondamentali

- Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field
- 5+ years of data science experience with at least 3 years in a lead role
- Proven line-management and team development experience
- Active hands-on coding and technical delivery capability
- Stakeholder management and ability to defend priorities
- Strong business acumen and ability to align projects with objectives
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Python, R or Scala; ML frameworks like Tensor Flow or Scikit-learn; SQL; cloud platforms like AWS or Azure; big data tools like Hadoop or Spark
