Within Leonardo Aeronautica's Service BU, specifically in the Customer Support & Services organizational unit, we are looking for a Supportability Engineer for our Turin Corso Francia office.
Main Responsibilities:
The Supportability Engineer is responsible for product support activities throughout the entire lifecycle of an aircraft.
Within TLS, the Supportability & Prognostic Health and Usage Management (PHUM) team plays a strategic role in the evolution of 6th generation programs, particularly for the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP), contributing to the design of innovative solutions that maximize system availability and minimize life cycle cost.
Supportability deals with conceiving and developing advanced support concepts, influencing aircraft design from the early stages to ensure maintainability, reliability, testability, and operational sustainability. Furthermore, it monitors the performance achieved during in-service use to ensure continuous improvement.
PHUM, on the other hand,
designs and develops advanced analysis solutions and tools capable of monitoring and predicting the health status of the Product, through diagnostic and prognostic techniques applied to both the aircraft and associated support elements (training devices, support equipment, ground systems, etc.).
Role
By joining the team, the candidate will have the opportunity to:
- Analyze Customer requirements, translating them into Supportability and PHUM requirements to be integrated into product specifications.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams to influence system design and maximize reliability, maintainability, operational availability, and testability.
- Conceive and develop innovative integrated support concepts with a particular focus on introducing predictive approaches to optimize maintenance, flight activity planning, supply chain, etc.
- Model solutions and requirements through Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approaches.
- Conduct Supportability analyses to evaluate system performance throughout the life cycle.
- Support integration, verification, and validation activities of developed solutions.
- Participate in defining support strategies for complex high-tech systems.
- Collaborate with industrial partners, customers, and suppliers in a highly innovative and multidisciplinary context.
- Participate in workshops, technical reviews, and national and international meetings remotely and/or at Partner Country locations.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the correct definition and allocation of Supportability and PHUM requirements.
- Ensure the consistency of developed solutions with Program requirements.
- Identify risks and opportunities related to product support throughout its life cycle.
- Contribute to the evolution of support methodologies through the adoption of innovative technologies.
- Support continuous product improvement through the analysis of operational data and in-service performance.
- Promote technical collaboration between the different engineering teams involved in the Program.
Educational Qualification: Master's Degree in Aeronautical or Aerospace Engineering.
Seniority: Junior
Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of System Engineering, international standards such as S-SERIES suite, product support processes,
and aeronautical regulations is a plus.
Behavioral Skills:
- Ability to work in a team;
- Problem-solving and results-orientation;
- Flexibility.
Language Skills:
- Excellent knowledge of the English language (listening, speaking, writing). Basic knowledge of Japanese is a plus.
Computer Skills:
- Office Suite, knowledge of tools for MBSE and software programming (Python, ML models) is a plus.
Other: Availability to travel to the UK and Japan.

How does the selection process work?
