The project involves the experimental characterization of spinal specimens obtained from donors with confirmed metastatic cancer, with the aim of generating a dataset of global and local properties for the development and validation of computational models.
The successful candidate will contribute to the preparation of spinal specimens for the experimental characterization of their biomechanical behaviour. They will be involved in conducting experimental tests using mechanical testing machines and full-field strain measurement systems. They will collect and process the experimental data acquired during the tests and contribute to the analysis and interpretation of the results, with particular emphasis on the biomechanical parameters of interest. Finally,
they will perform statistical analyses to assess the variability and statistical significance of the experimental findings.
