ppD-Orbit is looking for a Senior Flight Software Engineer to join our Flight Software team, based in Lomazzo (CO). /p pIn this role, you will contribute to the development of mission critical real-time embedded software, running on the D-Orbit latest generation On-Board Computers. /p h3Key Responsibilities Tasks: /h3 ul liContribute to the entire embedded software application lifecycle, focusing on requirements definition, design, coding, debugging and integration with the flight hardware, with a primary focus on OBC software /li liPreparation of flight software deliverable documentation for project milestones /li liContribute to the continuous improvement of the team processes and methodologies, including identification, definition and maintenance of cross-projects building blocks /li liCoordinate with subcontractors and software suppliers /li /ul h3Additional duties may be assigned as needed by each project, like: /h3 ul liDefine software system specifications during co-engineering activities with the system team /li liImprove and develop new features to shared libraries /li liMaintenance of existing flight software applications /li liSupport to AIV and HIL/SIL test activities /li liTake part to reviews with stakeholders /li /ul h3Requirements: /h3 ul liMinimum of 7 years' experience in embedded software development, including definition of real-time SW architectures /li liExperience delivering embedded software in any C-family language /li liKnowledge of any typical embedded communication interfaces such as USART, SPI, I2C, CAN, SpW, MIL-STD-1553 and related protocols /li liKnowledge of real-time operating systems (such as RTEMS or FreeRTOS) and/or operating systems targeted for embedded applications (such as any embedded Linux) /li liFamiliarity with bug/SPR tracking and project management tools (Jira) /li liFamiliarity SW requirements elicitation, SW design and testing lifecycle in regulated environment (ideally ECSS standard) /li liExperience using and configuring any common build tool chains or similar development environment (such as ANT, WAF, Makefile, Visual Studio, Jenkins etc.)



/li liFamiliarity with Git versioning system or any similar DVCS /li liAbility to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively /li liDegree, in any relevant area such as computer engineering, electronic engineering, aerospace engineering, robotics or automation. /li liFull professional proficiency of English language is mandatory. /li /ul h3Preferred Qualifications: /h3 ul liGood understanding of ECSS standards for OBC/Payload SW (PUS, OBCP, Savoir, etc.) /li liGood understanding of CCSDS standards for telemetry and telecommand (including CFDP) /li liBasic understanding of Assembly language /li /ul pWe offer a base salary range of €45,000–€60,000 gross per year for this role, depending on experience and location, plus a performance-based variable component.
