As the organisation continues to expand its engineering capability, they are looking to add an experienced Optical Engineer to their multidisciplinary team. /ppbr / /ppThis is an opportunity to work on the design, development, integration, and testing of high-performance optical systems used in demanding space applications. /ppbr / /ppstrongThe Role /strong /ppAs an Optical Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and analysis of optical systems from concept through to integration and verification. You#39;ll collaborate closely with mechanical, systems, electronics, and manufacturing engineers to ensure optical performance is achieved throughout the product lifecycle. /ppbr / /ppstrongKey Responsibilities /strong /pulliDesign and develop optical systems and optical assemblies for aerospace applications. /liliPerform optical modelling, performance analysis, and engineering trade-off studies. /liliConduct tolerance analyses and optimise designs for manufacture and integration. /liliDefine optical performance budgets and verification approaches. /liliDevelop optical alignment concepts, procedures, and test methodologies. /liliSpecify optical components and support supplier selection and technical reviews.



/liliSupport assembly, integration, alignment, and environmental testing activities. /liliCarry out optical performance assessments and radiometric analyses. /liliProduce clear engineering documentation, including design reports, test procedures, and technical specifications. /liliWork closely with suppliers, manufacturing teams, and project stakeholders throughout development. /li /ulpbr / /ppstrongAbout You /strong /ppWe#39;re looking for engineers with a passion for optical systems and space technology who enjoy solving complex engineering challenges. /ppEssential Skills /pulliDegree in Optical Engineering, Physics, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline. /liliAt least 3 years#39; experience in optical engineering. /liliExperience designing and analysing precision optical systems. /liliKnowledge of optical modelling and performance analysis. /liliExperience with optical alignment and laboratory test setups. /liliUnderstanding of optical metrology techniques. /liliProficiency with optical design software such as strongZemax /strong. /liliExperience with stray-light analysis tools is advantageous. /liliStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. /li /ulpbr / /ppstrongDesirable Experience /strong /pulliExperience with telescope or imaging system design. /liliFamiliarity with optical manufacturing and precision assembly processes. /liliProgramming experience with MATLAB and/or Python. /liliPrevious experience within the aerospace or space sector. /li /ulpbr / /ppIf you are interested, please get in touch and apply today. /ppEmail: /ppbr / /p
