Overview
In this remote, regional role you will serve as the primary technical expert for FCC catalyst applications, supporting refinery teams with troubleshooting, optimization, and performance improvements. You will conduct technical evaluations, simulations, and modeling to back recommendations and proposals. You’ll own P&L for assigned accounts and shape account strategies, including pricing and commercial terms. You will build and sustain cross-functional relationships with refinery engineers and BASF teams, driving growth in Southern Europe and the Mediterranean. This role offers high impact, technical leadership with strong commercial ownership in a leading catalysts business.

Responsabilità
- Act as primary technical expert for FCC catalyst applications at customer sites; provide hands-on support, troubleshooting, and optimization guidance
- Perform FCC evaluations, simulations, and modeling to inform recommendations and performance improvements
- Own full P&L; for assigned FCC accounts, including volume, margin, pricing, receivables, and forecasting
- Develop and execute account strategies aligned with BASF FCC objectives, including pricing and contract terms
- Identify and capture new FCC opportunities within existing and new refinery accounts; expand penetration through stakeholder mapping
- Build strong relationships with refinery engineers and operations; interface between customers and BASF technical, R&D;, and business teams
- Represent BASF in customer meetings, technical reviews, and industry engagements
- Location: fully remote; travel ~30–50% to visit sites and strengthen regional relationships
Requisiti fondamentali
- Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related discipline (BSc/MSc/PhD)
- Strong experience in refining with deep FCC operations and catalysts expertise
- Proven track record in a customer-facing FCC technical or commercial role
- Ability to perform FCC process analysis, modeling, and technical evaluations
- Experience managing multiple refinery accounts in an international environment
- Strong commercial mindset with success in pricing and contract negotiations
- Familiarity with Southern Europe / Mediterranean refining landscape
- Expertise in FCC technology and refinery processes
