Overview

In this role you drive the MSL function for a therapeutic area, aligning medical strategy with business goals. You lead and coach the MSL team, build strong relationships with KOLs, and shape the Local Medical Plan and Field Medical Plan. You ensure compliant field activities while delivering high-quality scientific engagement. This position offers a chance to influence rare-disease medicine through cross-functional leadership and strategic insights.

Responsabilità

- Provide strategic leadership, direction and coaching for the MSL team in the assigned therapeutic area
- Ensure high-quality scientific communication to healthcare professionals and alignment with medical/business objectives
- Co-design and own the Local Medical Plan (LMP) and Field Medical Plan (FMP) as part of the LMP
- Maintain field medical operation effectiveness and strict medical compliance in daily activities
- Foster a healthy, diverse, inclusive team environment and manage performance development
- Recruit, hire and onboard MSLs, and oversee talent development and succession planning
- Monitor and report MSL metrics and field medical value to the business
- Coordinate collection and reporting of insights from KOLs and stakeholders to inform strategy
- Oversee KOL strategy and external engagement, ensuring high scientific standards




- Support evidence generation projects and cross-functional collaborations in the field
- Build MSL capabilities with tools, training, and materials
- Ensure all activities comply with SOPs and local regulations
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and standardized MSL approach across teams
- Promote cross-functional partnerships and field medical excellence across MSLs

Requisiti fondamentali

- Pharma Degree, PhD, MD or other post-graduate degree in health/life sciences
- Minimum 5 years of clinical/scientific/pharma experience, including at least 2 years as an MSL
- Proven people management experience with performance management and development responsibilities
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills
- Results-oriented, adaptable, and resilient with ability to navigate changing market dynamics
- Strong analytical, planning, organizational, and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a dynamic, cross-functional, field-based environment
- Curious, growth-minded with active listening
- Experience in the relevant therapeutic area preferred
- Knowledge of Healthcare System and pharmaceutical industry guidelines
- Strong written and spoken English
