Overview

In this role you lead complex space mission projects to meet technical, schedule, and budget goals from conception to delivery. You work closely with clients and cross-functional teams to ensure requirements are met and projects stay on track. You manage PMO activities, coordinate procurement, and oversee risk and financial health. You will operate within ESA/ASI standards, driving successful mission outcomes and stakeholder satisfaction.

Responsabilità

- Lead and manage complex space mission programs from concept to completion to achieve schedule, cost, and technical objectives
- Serve as primary client contact, maintaining strong relationships and capturing customer requirements
- Coordinate cross-functional teams (engineering, procurement, finance) for smooth project execution
- Direct PMO activities, including Procurement Managers, to ensure timely, within-budget deliverables
- Organize and lead project meetings, technical reviews, and workshops with clear outcomes and documentation
- Oversee project finances: cost estimation, budget tracking, risk management, and performance reporting
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks affecting schedule, budget, and performance




- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements (ESA, ASI) throughout the lifecycle

Requisiti fondamentali

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Management, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of program management experience in space missions or aerospace projects, preferably with ESA/ASI
- Ground segment management experience is a plus (C2, telemetry, comms)
- Proven leadership in building and guiding cross-disciplinary teams
- Deep understanding of space mission standards and industry practices
- Strong financial acumen with cost estimation and budget management
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken
- Negotiation skills with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders
- Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies (MS Project, ECSS, PMP)
- Fluency in English
- PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent certification a plus
- International experience a plus
