OverviewIn this role you drive Chain of Custody certification quality across Western Europe and the Americas, supporting the FSC/PEFC COC program and timber due diligence services.
You collaborate with the Global Forestry Team to align business development and ensure accreditation standards are embedded in SGS processes.
You provide timely technical support to affiliates, lead audits and training, and uphold certification integrity.
This is a global, standards-driven position that shapes how SGS delivers sustainable forestry certification at scale.

ResponsabilitàSupport the development of the CBE timber and paper certification business (FSC/PEFC COC, timber due diligence) across Western Europe and the Americas
Maintain active communication with the Global Forestry Team to explore business development options
Assist the Global Technical Manager in revising COC procedures and documents
Ensure COC accreditation standards are integrated into SGS procedures and communicated to affiliates and auditors
Provide timely technical support and information to assigned affiliates
Coordinate and perform technical review of COC reports for accreditation alignment and decision making
Perform technical reviews of COC reports when required
Conduct Technical Internal Office Audits (L2) per global audit plan
Maintain the FSC Database
Manage KPI-based performance of delivering affiliates and oversee the FSC Trademark approval service
Ensure records meet accreditation requirements
Attend accreditation body audits and address CARs and complaints/admissions as advised
Set up and update trainings for COC auditors (Academy) with Training Manager
Support Global Training Manager with FSC and PEFC COC trainings and lead auditor trainings
Ensure certification competences with Accreditation Managers
Consult with Affiliates on hiring/training/new auditor registrations
Prepare New Auditor Application Packages for signature by the accreditation Manager
Conduct L1 audits of COC auditors as required
Adhere to SGS quality and safety management requirements
Conduct assigned training courses and FSC audits as needed
Perform other tasks as assigned by the direct line manager
Requisiti fondamentaliFSC COC Lead Auditor (must have)
Experience in timber and/or paper industries
Audit and commercial experience related to products including proposals
Strong leadership to drive change
Analytical, decisive, adaptable, ethical, problem solver, persuasive, commercially-sensitive
Customer and commercial focus
Excellent verbal and written English; ability to interact with senior officials and management
Teamwork with ability to operate with minimal supervision
Computer literate
English plus local language proficiency is advantageous
