About the role:
Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Technician supports the installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of battery energy storage systems. You have an electrical or electro-mechanical background working with high-voltage systems in the renewables industry.
Responsibilities Perform installation, commissioning, inspection, troubleshooting, and maintenance of BESS equipment, including batteries, inverters, transformers, EMS, and balance-of-system components
Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, and control system issues using schematics, drawings, and technical documentation
Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance following OEM manuals and site procedures
Monitor system performance and respond to alarms, faults, and outages
Safely work with high-voltage DC and AC systems while following all OSHA, NFPA 70E, and company safety standards
Complete service reports, maintenance logs, and incident documentation accurately
Support system upgrades, retrofits, and warranty work
Coordinate with engineering, operations,



and third-party vendors during site activities
Travel to project sites and participate in on-call or emergency response rotations
Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school training preferred
2+ years of experience in electrical, power generation, renewable energy, or energy storage systems
Experience with electrical fundamentals, including DC systems, three-phase AC power, and control circuits
Read and interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and technical manuals
Experience working safely around high-voltage equipment
Proficiency with diagnostic tools such as multimeters, insulation testers, and laptops for system interfaces
Valid driver's license and ability to pass background and drug screening
Prior hands-on experience with BESS, solar PV, or wind generation systems
NFPA 70E, OSHA 10/30, or similar safety certifications
Familiarity with lithium-ion battery technologies a
