Fondazione Telethon (FT) is a leading biomedical charity committed to advancing research into tangible therapeutic options for people living with rare genetic diseases. Through its affiliated research institutes – TIGEM (Naples) and SR-TIGET (Milan) – FT has established an internationally recognized track record in the development of novel gene therapy approaches, including AAV- and Lentiviral Vector-mediated gene transfer, and their clinical application, with more than 170 patients successfully treated to date. Furthermore, FT has pioneered the development and application of genome and epigenome editing approaches for precise gene correction and gene silencing, and it remains at the forefront of these technologies.

To support the preclinical advancement of these cutting‑edge approaches, FT is now expanding its capabilities in the non-viral gene delivery space, aiming at establishing a cross-institute Core facility dedicated to the production and characterization of Lipid Nanoparticles (LNPs).
