The Opportunity At

SEL , we are looking for an experienced

Application Engineer - Automation (Shipping Industry)

to join our team in Milan.

This role is ideal for an engineer who combines strong automation expertise with a deep understanding of the shipping industry. You will work closely with customers to develop practical solutions, provide technical guidance, and support the successful application of SEL technologies in maritime environments.

What You’ll Do Develop deep expertise in

automation systems, shipping applications, and SEL products . Support customers through

technical visits, demonstrations, training, and remote support . Analyze customer requirements and deliver

practical,



innovative automation solutions . Support system integration, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities. Contribute to application development, technical documentation, and knowledge sharing. Act as a

trusted technical advisor , supporting customers and promoting continuous improvement across the shipping sector.

What You Bring Bachelor’s degree in

Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Marine Engineering , or a related discipline. Experience in

industrial automation, control systems, or application engineering . Strong knowledge of the

shipping industry and maritime operational environments . Excellent communication, training, and customer-facing skills. Ability to work independently, collaborate globally, and

travel as required . High standards of

integrity, professionalism, and technical excellence .
