We are now looking for a Software Test Engineer / QA Engineer to take independent ownership of the entire software testing lifecycle, from the strategic definition of test cases through their planning and execution, to the analysis and reporting of results.

Based in Rome, you will take responsibility for the overall testing function and coordinate a team of testers reporting to you. You will be responsible for planning and allocating testing activities, monitoring their execution and ensuring the quality of deliverables, while also supporting the professional development and growth of the team.

The Opportunity

Your responsibilities will include

- Independently define the test strategy, test plans, and test cases, starting from the analysis of functional and technical requirements
- Organize and coordinate test execution, including functional, integration, and regression testing, planning both your own activities and those of the testers reporting to you
- Guide and support testers by assigning tasks, reviewing results, and fostering their professional development
- Identify, track, and verify defects,



independently prioritizing them based on their impact on the product
- Collaborate daily with development teams, analysts, and project stakeholders, including in international contexts
- Proactively propose improvements to testing processes and the adoption of new tools and technologies, including test automation
- Produce and maintain documentation related to testing and quality activities

About You You are an autonomous and curious professional who enjoys taking ownership of product quality. You take pride in organizing and coordinating test activities and have a proactive attitude towards improving processes and adopting new tools and methodologies.

You are comfortable working independently while also collaborating closely with developers, analysts, project managers, and other stakeholders. You are willing to take responsibility, identify issues proactively, and contribute to the continuous improvement of both the product and the testing process.

Requirements

What You'll Bring

You'll likely have

- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or, more broadly, in a STEM field
- Solid experience (2+ years) in Software Testing or Quality Assurance, with demonstrated autonomy in managing testing activities




- Some experience, even at a basic level, in coordinating or mentoring other team members
- In-depth knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail
- Curiosity and a willingness to continuously learn and adopt new tools, technologies, and methodologies
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong team-working attitude
- Good knowledge of Italian
- English proficiency sufficient to communicate effectively with English-speaking developers and colleagues. Native-level fluency is not required, but you should be able to understand and be understood when discussing technical topics

Required Skills

- Good knowledge of SQL for data querying and verification
- Good knowledge of the Linux operating system
- Experience using Jira for task and defect management
- Experience using Postman and/or SoapUI for REST API testing
- Familiarity with AWS and/or OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) environments
