Whitin the Middle & Back Office unit, the Settlement team manages the full confirmation and settlement process for market transactions executed by the Investment function, ensuring alignment between executed trades and the confirmations received from counterparties and brokers, and issuing settlement instructions to custodian banks primarily via SWIFT messaging. The team oversees the timely and accurate settlement of all transactions, investigating and resolving any discrepancies and transmits executed, confirmed, and reconciled trades to the external provider responsible for calculating the Net Asset Value (NAV), handling the submission of subscription and redemption orders through the Funds Dealing Service or directly to Transfer Agents while opening the related accounts, and provides all stakeholders—including the NAV calculator, administrative services, and clients—with updated lists of executed transactions.
The ideal candidate will support the team in the matching and settlement of security deals: bond, equity, bond/equity forwards, security collateral, security lending, fixed time deposits. In particular, she/he will be responsible of:
- Ensuring timely broker confirmations of the trades
- Managing unconfirmed trades and coordinating with all relevant parties, including brokers and the Front Office, to ensure prompt issue resolution, while issuing settlement instructions to custodian banks
- Monitoring trade status, involving all related parties (custodian banks, brokers, Front Office) when necessary, investigating the causes of any discrepancies
- Send orders for the subscription/redemption of funds, through the Funds Dealing Service provided by the custodian banks or directly to the Transfer Agents, opening the related accounts
- Provide all stakeholders (NAV calculator, administrative services, clients, etc.) with the list of executed transactions
- Matching and Reconciliation ETD Derivatives
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in either Finance or Economics (and equivalent)
- 3-5 years of proven experience in settlement activities
- Fluency in English and Italian. Knowledge of a second foreign language (French and/or German)
will be considered a plus
- Experience within consultancy firm or financial institutions
- Good knowledge of capital market and financial securities (fixed income, equity, funds, derivatives, money market instruments, etc.)
- Upper intermediate MS Office User, conspicuous skills in IT field, with special consideration of batch input system updates, data flows management.
- Knowledge of asset & wealth management industry.
Desirable
- Knowledge of ETF operations would be considered a plus
What we offer The role is offered within the 3^Area Competente category, under the National Collective Labour Agreement for the Banking Sector (CCNL Credito) and the applicable Company Collective Agreement (Contratto Integrativo Aziendale).
The starting gross annual salary is €38.000. The final offer will reflect the candidate’s professional experience and the technical and interpersonal competences required for the position and may include an individual variable compensation component.
