About the Role
We are looking for a recent graduate or junior Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering team. Through the Coesia Young Professional Program, you will embark on a structured development journey that combines formal learning, mentoring, and hands-on experience.
Working alongside experienced Mechanical Designers and Engineers, you will progressively develop technical autonomy while contributing to the design of automated assembly solutions for innovative industrial applications.
This role offers the opportunity to gain exposure to different engineering disciplines, collaborate within a multidisciplinary environment, and build a strong foundation for a long-term career within G.D. and the wider Coesia Group.

As a Junior Mechanical Engineer, you will:
- Support the design and development of machine functions, mechanical components and machine assemblies using CAD tools;
- Contribute to mechanical sizing and engineering calculations;
- Collaborate within multidisciplinary technical teams (including Software, Electronics, Hardware, Calculation and Vision Systems) to ensure the effective integration and development of engineering solutions.
- Participate in design reviews and prepare technical documentation;
- Support prototype development, assembly and testing activities, contributing to the continuous improvement of machine performance and reliability;
- Work closely with senior engineers to identify and implement effective technical solutions;
- Gradually develop exposure to customer-facing activities and technical discussions. The position is based in Bologna (Italy).
What You Need to Be Successful To be successful in the role, you have a strong interest in mechanical design and engineering, combined with a collaborative mindset and a willingness to learn. You enjoy working in multidisciplinary teams and are motivated to grow in an international and innovative environment.
More specifically
- Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Recent graduate or up to 18 months of experience through internships, thesis projects, academic activities, or an initial professional experience;
- Interest in mechanical design and industrial automation;
- Knowledge of technical drawing and CAD tools: experience with Creo will be considered a plus;
- C1 level of English
- Curiosity, adaptability, and a proactive attitude towards learning new technologies and ways of working;
- Team-oriented approach and strong collaboration skills;
- Interest in developing customer-facing and communication skills over time;
- Availability for occasional short business trips in the future.
Our Offer
Compensation for this role includes a base salary ranging from EUR 33,000 to EUR 37,000. A range of additional benefits (e.g., insurances, etc.) is also available in accordance with Company policy. The applicable collective agreement is the CCNL Metalmeccanico.
